After you’ve signed the contract, be aware, that the contract can be difficult to get out of. That doesn’t mean all gyms operate this way, but it is a good bet that most do. Before signing any contract, it is crucial that you understand exactly what you’re agreeing to.

Examine the costs in the context of. If you sign up for one of the lowest introductory rates that goes up after a particular duration, is it better to simply go to the gym that has a lower beginning price, but a greater total cost?

Many people have to purchase gym memberships aren’t used because the contract isn’t sufficiently restrictive. There are contracts that have an “buy-out” clause that is never read. In essence, it will state that if you want to cancel your membership before the end of your membership then you must spend X dollars. It is nice when a gym offers added-value amenities. If you can find one that has massages, classes or any other additional value options to use at your leisure, it’s great. But, it is not the best idea to follow a gym staff member around promoting their sales.
